Nightly Build or regular Download?

Brand New to musescore, but fairly experienced in the basically orphaned Sibelius. Need something that I can use to create figured bass examples and quizzes for my theory students. Do I need to download the nightly build or will the regular download have figured bass capabilities?

figured bass is not in 1.3, so if you need that, you'd have to use a nightly build.

Please note that nightly builds aren't recommended for serious work.
They may not open correctly, or at all, in a future build.

They may crash, they may exhibit strange behaviours, they may do any sort of unconvenient (or nasty!) things. BUT...
...they usually do not!
The unstable development version carried by the nightlies IS unstable, but since a while it has reached a tolerable level of stability and reliability.
It is true that there is no commitment to keep compatibility and functionallity between different releases of the unstable version and there is the possiblity that a score created with today nightly will not be open by next week's nightly, but it is possible, not certain, maybe not even very probable.
So, my suggestion is: if you need the new features, use it. Be prepared for some inconvenience and do not commit HUGE works on it. But try it, use it if you feel comfortable with it and REPORT ANY MALFUNCTION!
