Cannot reproduce, but owning a file with which the bug happens. Cannot attach file because of copyright protection, but will send it direct to an developer if you want.

This is what i did:
Created a system with 2/2 Measure, pickup Measure 1/4, two voices.
Changed the 2/2 into the "semicircle" with a vertical line through it (alla breve, cut time)
Added Notes, lyrics and Chords
Marked a note in the second voice.
Deletet the second voice (via Instruments dialog)
Saved the file while no note was marked.
Opened the file, changed to note input mode with shortcut n or via the toolbar - program crashes:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C.\Programme\MuseScore 0.9\bin\mscore.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Comments

I was able to reproduce the crash here are the steps starting with a new score:

  1. Create new score for two instruments
  2. Press "N" to begin note entry
  3. Add notes to the lower staff
  4. Create > Instruments and remove lower staff
  5. Press "N" to leave note entry
  6. Press "N" to begin note entry again

MuseScore crashes
(Tested using 0.9.5 on Windows XP)

Status (old) active fixed

I fixed the crash in r2202 by exiting the note entry mode and resetting the input state.
Not ideal I guess, but no more crash.

Status (old) fixed active

I get a crash if I undo.

  1. Create new score for two instruments
  2. Press "N" to begin note entry
  3. Add notes to the lower staff
  4. Create > Instruments and remove lower staff
  5. Edit > Undo
