Hand bells
I'm writing a suite for Christmas and wanted to use hand bells in the Ukrainian movement (Ukrainian Bell Carol). I don't know anything about writing for them or even the different sounds and effects that can be used. Can I have some help?

Most of those markings are just plain text, so you enter them using Staff Text. That is, click a note, press Ctrl+T, type.the marking you'd like tondelete see.apoear in the score. Special Characters are available while typing if you press F2 or use the icon at the left of the text toolbar.

Thank you. I'm still in the German movement app I haven't put the bells in yet but when I do it will help.

Another question: I'm planning on having three percussionists and having them play: triangle, bass drum, tambourine, snare drum, crash cymbol, splash cymbol, marimba, tubular bells, and timpani. I'm guessing I should group like instruments together, but I'm wondering if I should create a custom drum kit or use instrument change to switch between my five unpitched percussion instruments.

Just to confirm you know, you cannot do mid staff instrument change from a pitched to unpitched instrument (which of course you did not suggest). I would use mid staff instrument changes myself with staff text telling them when they need to change between pitched and unpitched. There is a situation that I would make a drum kit, and that's if for example the snare drummer plays some notes then quickly starts playing the splash cymbal or some other instrument where notes for one percussionist on different may end up in the same measure.

I do have spots that require the bass drum and a cymbol to be played in succession and simultaneously so I will use the custom drumkit.
