Here is how I center the named notehead by changing the offset values.
I experiment by changing the offset value to 1.00 to see the initial offset. I then add or subtract 0.05 each step to see what direction the note name note head moves. I found setting the vertical offset to 0.55 and vertical offset to 0.00 to be the best match with the original notehead.
After I determined the proper offset value, I make a "Select All", and perform the Named Notehead plugin to the entire score. The score looks great.
The Con: the vertical offset value I entered does not save or stay for the next use of the plugin. The Vertical office always goes back to 2.10. The Horizontal value does stay at 0. I only have to change the vertical offset everytime.
Well since Muscore 3.0 you can add names to the note heads natively:
To bring up this dialog right click on some staff (Notenzeile) and select staff properties (Eigenschaften Notenzeile)

It's a plugin. It's not integral part of MuseScore. Use "Inspector" and Horizontal/Vertical offsets to change the position.
I guess that's why this issue got opened against that plugin and not against MuseScore...
