I saw some issues related, at least the result, to this behaviour, eg #98171: Unexpected visible/invisible ledger lines depending on visible/invisible notes or #211456: Hiding a note does not hide its ledger line

But not sure if it was reported by this way (perhaps also that another similar issue escaped to my search)

That's quite odd!

BTW, what are you using to highlight your mouse pointer in that GiF? And what are you using to create the GIF? I'm not happy with any of the solutions I have found.

I use FastStone Capture software. Not free, but cheap (with simple and intuitive behavior, for me!) The highlighting of the mouse pointer is an option of the software. I can disable, don't really know what is better, except maybe a better focus on the sensible point.

BTW, this issue occurs with a more complete chord of course (just to show it, more spectacular)

  • Also active in the current master, but with a little difference. It appears when the lower note reaches the C (first ledger line under the staff)
