automatic text placement for lyrics "above" does not behave correctly in some cases
In some cases the automatic text placement moves the text unnormal far away from the stave.
In the example score in most cases the lyrics that apply to the tenor voice (lower stave, voice 1) are unnormal far away from the stave.
Curiosity: in the last system page 3, everything look fine. But when I add a syllable to voice 1 in the last measure, again the offset is increased enormously.

I made the changes you said would cause problems, but nothing happened, can you explain better how to make the enormous offset?
I've experienced this with other text items, especially in parts, so I'm keeping this as active rather than needs info.
see the images as attachment, before and after adding the last syllables for the tenor voice
I cannot reproduce the effect. Maybe the bug is fixed with commit 161be58475f5ee0667f42a04b784a7cbf1a83e48.
Yes, it seems to be fixed. Everything looks fine with this version:
(OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.0, revision: 161be58)
Also the rest of the score is now "normal", no more "ugly wide" distances between lyrics and stave.
Can be closed on my opinion
