When you delete a note in step-time mode, the pointer goes back one too far, so it overwrites the previous note.

I agree. I don't remember it doing this before. I know it didn't happen in version 2, so its a regression.

In normal input mode,

enter a couple of notes
undo once
The last note is highlighted rather than the rest that was created when you undid.

You should be able to enter a couple of note, press undo once (probably because you entered the wrong note) then continue in the position of where the note that was undone rather than pressing the right arrow to move the note input cursor to the location of where you want to resume entering notes.
