When adding hairpin dynamics in continuous view, the hairpin jumps up to beneath the topmost instrument staff instead of beneath the instrument it's supposed to go to. The method I use is to select the note I want the hairpin to fall on and then double-clicking the option in the palette, and no matter what line or note I select the hairpin shows up underneath the top instrument line, but in a parallel spot on the horizontal plane. Sometimes the hairpin will even show up beneath the bottom-most line, but never in the correct spot. And further problems with the hairpins is that I can never manually move them around the first time I try; I can only ever drag it the second time I click on it. And sometimes I can't manually adjust the length of the hairpin without deleting it and trying to put it in again. But I don't have the latest version of Mus. 3, so maybe this has already been fixed?

I think so. The problem also existed in page view, and only in the specific case where select a single note only then double-click the palette icon. All other cases - drag & drop, selecting range then double-click, or keyboard shortcut - worked as expected. This was fixed within the past two days. The fix had nothing to do with page vs continuous view, so I'm assuming it applies to both. See #278490: Lines placed above the top staff when single note selected.

The dragging is something different, in order to understand we would need you to attach a score and give precise steps to reproduce the problem.

I already attached the score that's showing the problem. The problem regarding adjusting the lengths of the hairpins is intermittent, so I don't know if I can reproduce it. But sometimes it happens right after I've selected a note, inserted a hairpin, and then tried to drag it to the correct location.
After double-clicking the hairpin, the boxes appear to adjust it's length but when I drag them around they just jump back to the position they were previously in. Again, this only happens on occasion but with enough frequency to be a problem.
Another issue with the hairpins is sometimes when I'm simply dragging them around, one end sticks in a certain location on the y-axis while the movement of my pointer lengthens and shortens it. This isn't when I'm attempting to adjust it's length, it's when I'm just dragging it around on the score.
1) select a note
2) double-click the hairpin option in the palette
3) drag the hairpin to the intended location (doesn't work the first time)
4) double-click to adjust length
issue: either doesn't work at all or adjusts length when you're just dragging it around.

Oh, and one more thing: after successfully, meticulously moving my hairpins to their intended location, I close the score and then open it again and they've all jumped to the bottom-most line of my score in continuous view.

I have discovered this is not fixed in the latest nightly, so I reopened the original issue. If it hasn't already, the green highlighting will disappear shortly to indicate it's still open.

@Emily, I sought out the last nightly that includes the code that was supposed to fix the problem rather than waiting for an update notification. I made sure I had the correct version loaded (in spite of a different issue) and the problem with lines being added to a single note is still there.
