Change of text style for element does not take effect

Ubuntu Studio 14.04, GIT commit: 54a97b8

1) create score
2) add staff text
3) click the text you added
4) use Inspector to change style to Tempo

Result: the text actually loses whatever properties it had and reverts to some sort of generic unstyled text. If you then re-select it, it shows in Inspector as Title even though it clearly does not have the attributes of that style.

This was working relatively recently - like within last few months.
