See attached score.
- In M1, move the string number "5" to the left with the arrows (or Inspector offsets).
Expected result: Only string number moves.
Actual result: All fingerings in same voice move to the left.
(Similar result when you move the "p" on the C note in voice 2).
- In M2, move the string number "5" to the left with the arrows (or Inspector offsets).
Expected result: Just the string number moves.
Actual result: As expected.
The problem arises when two fingerings are attached to the same note. The default position of the LH Guitar fingering is also further to the left than expected, particularly with imported 2.x scores.

One of the functions of automatic placement is establish correct default alignment of fingerings that are supposed to be in a column. If you wish to deviate form this, simply turn off automatic placement.
That said, I agree string numbers should not affect anything but other string numbers, etc, that much does seem a bug.

I have a fix for this as part of https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/4982.
