Project

Create a score - single or multiple parts. insert a time or key signature at the end of a line such that it is the last element in the line.

Alternately , create it such that the key or time signature is the last element in a line in a part.

the time and key signature will be duplicated in any location where it is NOT on the end of the line - and if additional edits move it off of the line location, the duplication remains in place, even if the key and time signature involved are deleted and recreated.

This is standard notation. You can prevent these courtesy signatures by selecting the one on the next line and remove the check from "Show courtesy"

This is not standard notation.
The duplicates appear in the middle of lines on parts where the spacing is different; you can edit your score to ensure that anything that was duplicated is no longer on a line end, and it then shows both time and key signatres twice within a single bar, in the middle of the line.

See bars 70, 71, 83 in the attached PDF.

'Hide courtesy time signatures' does remove the duplicates in the middle of the line - but it removes ALL of them - including ones that should exist and should show across line ends.
