Con Sordino on Stringed Instruments
The piece I am currently writing needs to be con sordino, and I'm wondering if there is a way to get a muted sound during playback. I've looked at the voice channel options, and it only shows pizzicato, arco, and tremolo. There is no con sordino option. Is there a way I don't know of to make a muted sound? Thanks.

There is one for several Guitars., For violins etc, there no such sound available in a GM soundfont
You need a soundfont, like the Aegean Symphony Orchestra (ASO), that has a sordino sound recorded. The The ASO also has a custom instruments.xml that add the sordino channel to strings and brass and a dark channel to woodwinds. The sound isn't great, but it's better than nothing.
