For a single voice everything is fine ...
Problems start in 2 parts:
Upper part: on a line, both notes stem up, tied over = dot-tie clash
Lower part: on a line, both notes stem down, tied under = dot-tie clash
The behaviour is slightly different for 2nds, where the upper dot positions get corrected,
and only lower notes have clashing dot-ties on lines.

See #45576: Tie on same side of staff/ledger line as augmentation dot = collision. The number of different combinations is large and we already have more special cases in the code for ties than I'd prefer, but it's definitely worth looking at ways of coming up with an algorithm that works better. Feel free to comment in the other thread with ideas.
