MS 3.2.3.

  1. Open the attached file.
  2. Select a chord symbol (coupled to fretboard diagram) in system 1. Note the Y-offset, Horizontal align, and Style values.
  3. Now click on an (unaccompanied) chord symbol in system 2. Note the Y-offset, Horizontal align, and Style values.

The appearance in the score is correct: chords coupled to fretboard diagrams would be expected to be center-aligned, and unaccompanied chords, left-aligned. And the vertical position is OK. However, what is irregular is that each type of chord symbol shares the same style, despite having different properties.

Suggestion: Have one style for chord symbols coupled to fretboard diagrams; and a separate style for unaccompanied chord symbols.

Severity S3 - Major S5 - Suggestion

This is currently by design, it's the same as with lyrics, which have a style of centered but get automatically converted to left-align in certain situations. We certainly could someday add more style settings to give independent control over this, but for now, we just try to do the right thing by default.
