When you hovered over a position in the editor in previous versions, a grey dot would appear to show where the new dot would be when you clicked. A similar thing would happen with a red dot being shown if a dot already existed where you hovered.
In 3.5 (latest master), this doesn't happen, and makes for a pretty confusing experience.

Not in 3.x but indeed in master
Looks like it is working now. It seems to have been fixed in the past 1.5+ year. Can you please check, and close the issue if it is working for you as well?

Thanks for closing. I would usually prefer as have at least one other person confirm that it is fixed for them (to avoid a fixed "false positive", esp if there are permutations at play, e.g. OS, Qt ver, self-built vs daily) before closing, but will leave it as fixed.
