Adjusting dynamic range
I'm missing something... I enter a dynamic for the top stave of a score and I wish to extend it to the whole score. I open the inspector, I select "System" in "Dynamic Range"... and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong ?

What do you expect to happen?

To start with : I expect something... anything ! Or else, what would be the point to that function ?
My first intention is to extend a dynamic to all staves of a score.

That's indeed what should happen, that dynamic should now affect the velocity (AKA volume) of all instruments.
Does it not?

No, hence my question...
Is there an "apply" or "save" thingy that I missed ?

No. Just rewind and play. Works for me.
If it doesn't for you, share a sample score

Let's say the dynamic is pp. Do you mean all parts will play pianissimo but the pp symbol will be on only one stave ?

Yes. It won't even propagate to the parts, should any exist

"Is there an "apply" or "save" thingy that I missed ?"
No, the act of changing the Dynamic Range from Part to System immediately applies that dynamic to the other staves, from that beat of the measure onwards..
Are you expecting the same dynamic to be propagated visually to the other staves? If so, that's not how it works. The score will still look the same after the change from Part to System.
[EDIT]
"Let's say the dynamic is pp. Do you mean all parts will play pianissimo but the pp symbol will be on only one stave ?"
Yes...

Ah ! There's the rub !
So I guess the only way is selecting all the staves and adding the dynamic ?

In a recent comment in a related thread, Mike had a very good proposal for how to do this quickly:
