Musescore freezing upon note input or saving

  1. MuseScore always opens properly.
  2. After 2 or 3 note inputs, or upon saving, MuseScore freezes.
  3. Read some forum posts and:
    a. Tried launching MuseScore from bin instead of shortcut, no change.
    b. Included MuseScore in "Allow File" of my Webroot anti-virus program.
  4. Tried rebooting my Windows 10 Home, Version 2004, OS Build 19041.746 on a fairly new laptop a few times, no change.
  5. Tried creating a new "Test" score but freezing continued.

In order to assist, we would need you to give precise step by step instructions - which notes you are trying to enter, where, etc. I didn't encountered any problems. Could be something else going on with your system that is interfering somehow. Manybe some other program is trying to hog the audio system? Anyhow, better to ask on the forum where many more people with more extensive sysadmin experience may be able to help diagnose what is going on with your system.
