Status won't fix needs info

Would you mind attaching your score so we can investigate? Otherwise, you might as well set the status back to "won't fix".

See if you can isolate the problem in a file small enough to upload. First, make sure that you have backed up your score. Then, start trimming down the score by completely removing measures and staves, and getting rid of linked parts. Try to get the score as small as possible, while still being able to demonstrate the problem. If trimming the score gets rid of the problem, or if the file is still too big, you can upload the file to your favorite file-sharing service (Google Drive, Dropbox, or whatever), and share the link.

I have so far to see a score that is too big to upload here.
Still reducing it to a small as possible file that still shows the problem is a good idea

Indeed, there is no way you could have a score too large to upload. So I encourage you to try - just click the "Choose a file" button right below where you type your comment.

From the screenshot, I don't see an obvious problem with barline sizes, but I see a huge gap between two of the staves, so I will assume that is what you mean. This tells me that somewhere in that score there is some marking that has been manually position way way below the upper staff or way way above the lower one, and MuseScore is dutifully creating space for it. Probably you dragged something by accident, and now the trick is finding it and resetting it back to its proper position. Here again, if you need help finding it, just attach your score and we can probably find it quickly enough.

In the future, though, it's best to use the Support forum when asking for helping using MuseScore.

Unless the score contains images or is mscx rather than mscz there's no way it can be that huge. If it really is, that's the problem already.

Be sure it really is the MSCZ file you are uploading, not something else.

If the MSCZ is larger than 4MB that would be pretty rare but indeed possibly indicative of a problem. So, try uploading toe some third party site like Dropbox or Google Drive and including a link to it here.
