For this issue, why do you write the instrument name on 2 lines? If written "P. Org" on one line only, it looks good to me.
I used the materials from another bug report (for quickness), but the bug exists - regardless of line amount.
I'm not sure what "off centre" really means here...
The behavior is different in afe6c9ac9e
Not sure if it's better though.
I believe it would be better to remove line breaks from instrument name and take into account the full height of the font http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-5/qfontmetrics.html#height
The only different behaviour I see is single-line entries being moved closer to the stave. I pondered this potential behaviour, but came to the conclusion it might be better if all entries of varying line break amounts began at the top line.
Off-centre means the instrument name isn't centred vertically on the stave (e.g. the "P" is currently at the bottom stave line, instead of being a little bit higher).
If you remove the line breaks, the names will spill onto other staves and collide with other names. I don't want this.
I have this bug too (the instrument name Pno. is not centered vertically):

I will be fixed in my next commit.
