"Visible" checkbox missing for newly added instruments

Steps to reproduce

  1. In any score, open the instruments panel (press I)
  2. Add a new instrument by choosing one from the list and click on "Add to score"
    • The new instrument appears on the right-hand side, but its checkbox for "visible" is missing.
  3. Close and re-open the instruments panel
    • The checkbox is shown as for the other instruments

I take it this is not intended? It is impossible therefore to make an instrument invisible upon creation.
