Is this a flipped accent, small crescendo or a fade out?

they seem to be the same size as these which I input as accents(which I'm not sure if it's suppose to be that way):

For those indeed a crescendo doesn't make sense, and per context and comparison those others are probably accents as well

They point in the wrong direction to be accents. Accents go this way > not this way < .

Given the other errors in engraving for this score, I don't think we can depend on them having obeyed that rule either. This is not meant as a joke or a criticism, just a fact - it's actually difficult to know for sure what is intended in such cases.

My mistake, sorry. At first glance seemed to have a similar look. The link to the original score here is down, or was when I last checked.
I think it is a small crescendo, or a "swell" for the arpeggio in the right hand.
