Copyright lock for public domain score?

I have transcribed a piano score for the song Swanee River from Stephen Foster. It is a private score which should only be available for me to see. And the author of the song has died over 150 year ago. Hence, I am very astonished that I get the message:

"Ops! This score is unavailable in your country. The copyright holder has prohibited us from publishing any scores related to the work this score is based on."

Who is claiming to be the copyright holder? And it's a private score anyway. Shouldn't I be able to have private transcriptions even of copyrighted material? As long as it is in private use it is not being published...

Can you remove the copyright protection? Can I do s.th. to avoid copyright blockings like this for my private scores/transcriptions?

I've just tried to look at my own private scores on my iPad. I get the same message
"Oops! This score is unavailable in your country. The copyright holder has prohibited us from publishing any scores related to the work this score is based on."
Strange, since the scores are mine! I composed them!! Come on guys, stop mucking about, please.

All these copyright questions are handled on musescore.com, and not here on musescore.org.

So you need to raise your concern:
- either by email with support@musescore.com
- or on the group "Improving Musescore.com": https://musescore.com/groups/improving-musescore-com

Here on musescore.org you will only find unpaid volunteers who answer questions about the free music notation editor (for Windows, MacOS and Linux). We can't help you with copyright problems, sorry.
