1) Install Musescore 3.6.2 via Flatpak on Linux Mint 20.3 "una".
2) Set up a new file with a Strings instrument.
3) Attempt to set up a hairpin crescendo.
The hairpin has no effect: Note volume jumps immediately.

Try AppImage -> https://musescore.org/en/download/musescore-x86_64.AppImage
Flatpak is not administrated by this team
Works just fine in 3.6.2 on Windows
Works fine on Linux with the AppImage for me. I'm assuming this a result of the people who built the Flatpak having included an incompatbile soundfont. Download the correct soundfont via the links the Handbook page on soundfonts, and please report the bug to whomever created that Flatpak build. See #331933: "Expressive" Voices (single note cresc/decresc) completely missing from Flatpak version.
I've now tried the AppImage. The program doesn't even open at all. Just hangs here
How's that related to hairpins?
Anyway: Esc. out of that dialog (this dismisses the question whether you agree in telemetry data being collected, which, except for crash reports, doesn't happen anymore anyway).
You may need to use the -w commandline option, at least this has been reported by several AppImage users to help a hang/crash when showing the web part of the startcenter
Thank you. Dialog dismissed. Program opened, and can confirm the issue does not occur.
The problem is now with reporting this to Flathub. AFAIK, it's not easy. I will try...

You tell me, who created the Flatpak build? I have no idea.
