I am new to MuseScore, and whenever opening MuseScore on my computer the blue MuseScore screen pops up for about half a second before closing and opening the crash report. I tried all the possible fixes I could find on the forum (reinstall, -F, -w, -n, ect...) but nothing has worked. I even downloaded MuseScore to a flashdrive and opened it on a friends computer to disable startcenter but that did not help. It doesn't matter where or how I try to open it or even what version of the software I use as I went back as far as 3.4, it always crashes on startup. I checked to make sure my firewall and network were not blocking it and they seem to be fine. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Is this by chance an older machine that requires a 32-bit build, or one with an ARM processor that might also require a special build?

It is not. It has a i7-7820x running 64 bit windows. I tried 32 bit anyways, but there was no change.
Did you try “-s” to disable the synthesizer? Compatibility issues with the audio driver seems most likely from what you’ve said.

You seem to be correct as I was able to open the program. However, playback and sound do not work and I have also experienced some crashing. Is there a more permanent fix that would fix these problems? I checked the known incompatibilities and don’t think I have any of those.

If it helps, according to Cubase the asio drivers I have on my pc are “Creative SB/SBX AE DSD ASIO,” “Creative SB/SBX AE series ASIO,” “Generic Low Latency ASIO Driver,” “Maschine MK3,” “Realtek ASIO,” and “Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO”
I'd start by making sure each of those drivers are up to date. If the problem persists, then it will be a bit of trial and error process of removing them one by one until you find which causes the conflict. Then seeing if you can either live without that driver or find an alternative.
Since this is pretty complex sysadmin stuff, you'll probably do better asking for help in the Support forum, where others users who might know about that specific hardware and those specific drivers may be able to assist.

After uninstalling the Realtek driver which I do not use sound is back and there seems to be no crashing. Thank you for all of your help.
