Audio engine crashes whenever musescore is open if an audio interface is connected
1) Connect audio inferface to computer (Yamaha AG03 Mk1)
2) Set windows audio output to the audio interface
3) Open musescore
4) Set device to the audio interface output if not already
5) Restart audio engine if sound still comes out from another device
Audio engine will crash & nothing will be able to play even if restarted, until app is closed or reopened using another audio settings.
Sometimes, only disconnecting the audio interface after closing musescore will fix the audio engine.
Problem only occurs when both windows & musescore use the audio interface as output.
This problem occurs only with musescore.
Reinstalling musescore did not solve the issue.
Problem can be avoided by setting windows audio output after musescore (& turning on midi input).
However, restarting audio engine or turning on midi input using the same audio output wil cause it to crash again. (it usually changes automatically to another audio output after turning on midi input)
OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.6.2.548021803, revision: 3224f34

I'm not exactly sure what you mean in saying the audio engine crashes - are you running a separate process? If so, then crashes in that program should probably be reported to their support team. But FWIW, I have that same device and it works with no problems for me, regardless of the order in which I do things. I am not aware of any specific "audio engine" process that is being run, though.
If you are saying that MuseScore itself is crashing, we would want to investigate indeed, but we'd need more precise steps to reproduce this. In particular, what actually happens for you after step 5 to lead you to believe that something has crashed?

Musescore itself does not crash, score & any media becomes unplayable.
After step 5, pressing the play button won't play the score, selecting any note won't play a sound, media in other apps won't play either, just freeze. (mp3/video player, chrome, DAW, etc.)

Issue now gets solved by starting MuseScore or restarting audio engine or turning on midi input when no other app is playing media.
However, it occurs again if MuseScore is started or audio engine restarted or midi input turned on while other app is playing media (even when paused).
