R key producing notes on wrong lines when used with transposing instrument

Musescore V2 1efc609 Win 8.1

just added a few notes to a score.

trumpet in Bb
Decided (after the first note) to use the R shortcut to repeat the previous note.
What it actually did was give the same sound but wrote a note a flattened 7th higher. Upon repeating R it then placed a note a whole tone lower but still with the original sound...etc etc
A similar thing happens in Tpt 2 but it didn't jump the flattened 7th for several notes

Upon playback, the same note is played despite several different pitches being displayed.
You'll also note that it has made a sequence of the first 6 notes!

In Preferences "R" is the default 'repeat selection' btw
