All percussion seems to have sounds but nothing happens in Snare Drum lines. I've tried restarting the app to no avail. I've search forums and github and I couldn't find another.

Are these imported from 3.6, or newly created in 4.0? Can you attach a score that has this issue?
I installed 4.0 fresh - never had Muse before so this is all new. The MS Basic works but not the muse sounds just on that one instrument.
Using the latest Mac OS.
Here is a test where I just tried all the sounds to see if they would play. I just started trying this app yesterday and am not a power user but it seems kind of strange. The top snare line does not make any sound on any line.
The reason I noticed this is i downloaded the demo scores and on playback i saw a snare part i didn't hear so I soloed it and it was silent.

Frequency is the number of people who report the issue.
I'm having the exact same issue. I've gone through and tried to download different sound fonts and anything else I could think of with no luck. I'm using the same MuseScore 4.0 and the latest Mac OS. I've restarted my computer and MuseScore and tried it on a few different pieces. All of my other percussion Muse Sounds work except for snare.
i have this problem as well. The Muse Sound version does not play.
You have to choose the "Concert snare drum" instrument.

I am having this problem as well. Nothing has been done to fix it. It makes writing percussion scores very difficult

If it hasn't been reported on Github then nothing will get done. Has it been reported? If not report it here: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/new/choose. You will need a Github account.
I had this very same issue so I used the concert snare option. In realizing it sounded horrible for what I was doing I switched it back and it started working. Hopefully this helps for whoever else has this issue.
