I use the xml import and export exclusively for producing audio described music for the blind. The xml shows the "harmony" code is in there. But opened in MuseScore 4 and no chords show. So I am unable to visually edit any incorrect xml import because none of the chords are showing in MuseScore - I can't find out if a chord starts on the correct timing, if the chord name is correct or anything. Manual entry of chords would make a huge mess of my then to be exported xml file for me to upload into my software for the blind.

Manual input!
I'd rather not count that as a workaround

Two is few
And critical is for crashes and corruptions
Think the workaround is:
After opening the xml file do:
Go to Menu->Layout->Style->Chordsymbols
Change the Style to Jazz (as if it is magic....chordsymbols will appear now)
Change the Style back to Standard (if desired)
Workaround: save as mscz, close and reopen MuseScore and score
See https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/13214
Actually a duplicate of #334422: [MusicXML] Doesn't show chord symbols when open XML file - export fail
