Can't install MS4 from MuseHub

• Jan 3, 2023 - 19:37

Hello everybody,
When i saw the MS4 announcement i jumped into Musescore Youtube channel to see all amazing improvements made ! So i wanted to update my MS3.
I downloaded MuseHub and wanted to download MS4 but it's telling me "Unbale to download / launch Musescore, Musescore doesn't have a released version!"
I completely uninstall MS3, completely removed all components, like folders in documents, folder in ProgramData etc... but i can't install MS4 nor use the new Muse Sounds library.
Can someone help me please ?
Thank you !

You didn't need to remove all that - feel free to restore it.

Without knowing more about your OS, it's hard to say, but I'm guessing it's simply too old.

Anyhow, you can install MuseScore directly from the main page of this site without the hub.

Hello, thank you for your reply.
I wanted to have something totally clean since it didn't worked, so i remove all.
I'm on Win11 21H2 version. When you say too old, you mean i need to update Win11 ?
I tried to install directly MS4 without the hub, downloading from the site, i managed to correctly install it, but even downloading and installing MuseSounds from the hub, MS4 is not seeing and playing them. MuseSounds are still inactive and i can't check/choose them in play options in mixer window...

Your version of Windows is recent enough, it should have worked. It's not clear why it didn't, but you can try filling out a support form with the Muse Hub folks at musehub.zendesk.com.

I'm not sure why Muse Sounds isn't working either, unfortunately. Seems a few people have had this problem, and it usually turns out to be an installation problem - things in the wrong folders (installing to a custom location doesn't work, for instance). If you go to Diagnostic / Muse Sampler in MsueScore, what does the version check say? I'm guessing it will say it's not installed.

It's now solved, thanks, today i tried again and managed to install Musescore Hub version, and also MuseSounds and they are recognized by Musescore. So it's fine ! It was for sure a server issue...
I'm just facing another issue now, with a lot of reverb i can't find how to lower it or to turn it OFF completely, but it's another problem i guess.

I am having the exact same problem. This is very frustrating as I have created a piece in MuseScore 3 and wanted to see it updated in MuseScore 4. I am extremely discouraged. I don't want to have to go back to using 3. And you know what, I shouldn't have to. I paid for musescore.com several times, so I expect a product that works despite bugs but one of the bugs should not be that I can't even download the program.
