Project
- Set sound output to SoundBlasterX G6
- It doesn't matter what sound quality is set to 16 bit 44 K hz or 32 bit 96K hz
- Click on Musescore 4 app icon
- Musescore 4 crashes.
If I set sound output to Realtek audio, Musescore 4 loads and runs.
Musescore 3.6 runs fine with output to SoundBlasterX G6

This is probably fixed by https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/15698. If you have a GitHub account, you can try out the test version from that Pull Request to see if it works for you; see https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/wiki/Downloading-and-running-tes… for instructions.

Hi Folks,
Thanks for the suggestion. But, I don't have a GitHub account. The suggestion appears very technical, beyond my novice abilities. Is there any other way to move forward? MS4 still crashes when I choose my SoundBlasterX G6 external audio as the output. So for now MS4 is a no go. Please help!

Try the latest nightly build.
Might ba a duplicate of #339922: Installation Complete, but MuseScore 4 won't run On Windows 11. I click on the Application Start Icon, it starts to load, but then dies.
