Lyrics position
Hi,
I'm looking for the parameter that configures the distance between a lyrics and a measure bar but without any success. You will see in the example that the text at the beginning of the measure is much too close to the bar line.
I'm using MS 3 and 4 dan get the same result
Thank you for your help.
Alex

There is none. Other to not use extended barlines in a closed score
Left justify miser or stick a few CTRL-spaces before the m?
In reply to Left justify miser ? by rothers
Possible workaround, but not strictly a setting
Thank you for your answers.
This is indeed what my research in the style menu had given.
It's a pity that such an option isn't implemented, these problems of distances between the text and the bar line always arise when the word under the note is a little too long.
The only way I have found to work around the problem is to manually move the note.
Otherwise the solution to align the text to the left works but it's not very harmonious with the rest of the lyrics.
I don't know if this feature has already been requested
Have a nice day
Alex
Normally barlines do not extend from one vocal stave to another because of precisely this issue. In all normal situations lyrics should actually be allowed to poke outside of the bar they are in, anyway (when space allows):
Annoyingly, MuseScore can't/doesn't do this at the moment, but it will soon enough :)
In the meantime, if for whatever reason you really must connect your barlines through the staves, you can create extra space for the first note in the bar by increasing its 'Leading space' in the Properties panel (under 'Appearance'); to make space at the end of the bar, you can do the same for the following barline. Here I changed them from 0 to 0.5, for example:
(For now, changing 'Min. distance' in Style > Format > Lyrics also has some incidental effect on this, but you'd have to set it too high to be useful for this purpose, since it is really meant for controlling the minimum distance between adjacent lyric syllables.)
