Please bring back all the formatting options MuseScore3 had (i.e. super and subscript, bold, italic, etc)
This feels like a massive oversight on the part of the developers. There is no way to do a superscript in the updated version. The more I use this updated version the more of a huge letdown it is. Also, please PLEASE PLEASE bring back multiple tabs! This version, despite it's new mixing and sample options, feel much more clunky for composition than MuseScore3. I'm starting to regret the update.

I think the "Play panel" in MS4 behaves like !#$!%#@$, but no amount of please please please from me is going to effect any change to it. And it's possible that - if a flood of complaints from users who share my opinion on the "Play panel" happens - the development team is unlikely to make some radical shift in their plans for that one point of new releases... This is little consolation to your thoughts, I know. If you are sufficiently adamant about multiple tabs, forward your concerns through additional comment channels.

In the "Feature request" thread, I asked for a return to "Play panel" look-and-feel experience from MS3.

We really need a propper forum for MuseScore
where one can search for threads. Have of the posts a duplicates
which could easily be avoided.

The Issue Tracker in Support or Activity is the best place to look for duplicates for now.

FWIW, the develoeprs aren't normally looking at this community-based forum. If a consensus develops as a result of the discussion on these forums about whatever issue you are perceiving with the existing play toolbar, you would need to open an issue on GitHub to have that considered for future designs.
There are a bunch of bugs listed around missing text options. Github comments suggest that they were postponed to a later 4.x release.

As for the ability to have your scores all open in the same window and thus also be forced to all use the same sounds are MuseScore 3 did, that doesn't seem likely - it's far too important with the advent of Muse Sounds and VST support to allow each score to use its own set of sounds. Are you on Mac? If so, I do feel for you because that OS does a remarkably poor job of managing multiple instances, showing them as separate taskbar entries instead of collapsing them don't one as other systems do. Workarounds for that much are being investigated.
