Fitting different durations in figured bass
In the handbook (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/figured-bass) it says that you can fit more than one figure under a single note (in my case in the second beat of a dotted minim) by pressing Ctrl+5.
I've tried this, and it doesn't work (pressing Ctrl+5 just enters '5' straight after the first figure at beat 1). Am I missing something?

I'm also having this problem, but it looks like the issue was closed on GitHub a few months ago, so we may be seeing it in the next stable release.
It's fixed indeed in the upcoming 4.1 (for which you can try out a nightly build via the Download page on this site). Meanwhile, though, it does work to redefine the shortcut for the various figured bass duration shortcuts to combinations involving Space, Right, and modifiers only. Eg, Ctrl+Alt+Space or whatever.
