2d repeat incorrectly starts in the wrong place

Hello Musescore Forum People

In the attached score I created wth Musescore 3, in makes it correctly thru the 1st ending,

However, when approaching the repeats, the musescore player starts the 2nd ending at the 2nd measure of the first ending.

My recollection of when I transcribed this is the first ending only wanted a horizontal line above the first measure of the first ending. i had to "pursuade" that horizontal line to go over both measures in the first ending. My guess is that musescore was not fully convinced by my "persuasion."

Golly. There must me something I did wrong!

I've attached the score.

Would somebody tell me what i did wrong, please?

Many thanks for your fixing my Musescore score. I am grateful.

I surely would like to know how you changed the font, though. I've got many other scores that I typeset in Musescore...

... and now that I've changed to Musescore 3.6, all of those scores will probably need to be fixed, also.

For existing scores, you must load the style file 'MuseJazz.mss' (Format/Load Style...) and save the score again. Yes, this must be done for each score individually.

For new scores, you can set the default style file 'MuseJazz.mss' in 'Edit/Preferences .../Score'. Then every new score will have this style.

You can also take any score, design it with your own styles in "Format/Style/Text Styles". Save the style under 'Format/Save Style...' with a new name. Finally set it as default style for future scores.

Ok, I am not sure how it is if nothing has been modified since the installation. Maybe in that folder are only those style files which are created by yourself.
But there are some .mss files in the installation folder C:\Program Files\MuseScore 3\styles. There is at least a file called MuseJazz.mss which you may copy to the folder ".../documents/Musescore 3/Styles".
It is also the question what is set in "Files/Preferences/General" as default folder for styles.

I'll attach the MuseJazz.mss from 3.6.2 installation. So save it in the styles folder (".../documents/Musescore 3/Styles") and you should have access.

Thank you, Jojo.

I completely removed Musescore 3.2, 3.6, and 4. And then removed the mss files HildeK offered.

Then, I reinstalled the the appimage.

I opened an old score, and saw non jazz fonts. So, I did this: Format > Style > Score and chose MuseJazz.

It worked!

Hello Hildek and Jojo:

I've done a little investigating... that is by no means thorough or conclusive.

Here is one thing to keep in mind: I use a linux Ubuntu operating system... not Windows or Mac. This may (or may not) be significant in understanding this problem for me.

Here is what I found:

I found a MuseJazz.mss in the folder /usr/share/mscore3-3.2/styles/

Note 1: This path does not seem to reference anything about updated versions, Musescore 3.6 or 4. This makes me think the installation for 3.6 and 4 is not installing everything it should.

Note 2: When I copied that MuseJazz.mss file into the Styles folder (installed probably during the 3.2 installation), it did nothing for accessing jazz fonts when I used Musescore 3.6 and 4. Nothing.

Note 3: I took the MuseJazz.mss file HildeK sent and put it into both the system and personal styles folder (probably created by installation of 3.2)... and when I began Musescore 3.6 , it starts with a nice blank score with "Title" as the title, and all other fonts that I can see ... they are Musejazz!!

This probably means that the installation of Musescore 3.6 and 4 on linux is probably missing important pieces that include fonts like MuseJazz.mss

WHERE CAN I REPORT THIS???

IN the mean time I've got a score that has some sort of "stiff" font now when I open an old score I created using Musescore 3.2 with Musescore 3.6.

I seem to have the MuseJazz font loaded now in 3.6 because of HildeK's contribution of a Musejazz.mss file form 3.6 or 4.

Using that, how do I change the font to MuseJazz now? that I seem to have some sort of new capability.

JoJo did this earlier this morning. How did you do that Jojo?

Or, on opening pre 3.6 scores in 3.6, don't accept the change to Leland and the new style defaults!
Or, if you already accepted those changes and also ticked the box, Don't ask again, revert that in the Preference settings

Seems a big bug in 3.6, that this dialog also shows for scores using the MuseJazz font and settings. It really should only do that for scores using Emmentaler, as only that was thas the pre 3.6 default and any deviation means a deliberate deviation from the defaults.

I understand now.

I think the opportunity for me to do that has passed. Although when opening 3.6 for the first few times, I was offered some sort of option (that I didn't) understand, I rejected those options.... and now .... after using 3.6 several times, I'm not offered the opporunity to do that anymore.
