Creating a tempo marking for 5/8
I was wondering how I can go about making a tempo marking along the lines of "dotted quarter tied to a quarter = x tempo" for a 5/8 time signature?

In theory, you could assemble markings like this with symbols from the "Special characters" palette (press Shift+F2 while editing to display). You'd have to hunt through the musical symbols section to pull it off and it might be tricky with the alignment. In practice, it might be easier to just create the notation on a staff with invisible lines, grab a screen shot, and paste in the graphic.
