Double-click an MSCZ file last saved with MuseScore 1.3 or earlier. MuseScoreNightly launches, but as if you were simply directly opening the application—the Start Center appears, and the main window is empty. The score hasn't opened. If the nightly is already running, the scores open normally. Something to do with 1e2596b4f1 , maybe?

Yes—if MuseScore is already open, then there's no issue. It's only if opening the file means also opening the application that it seems the signals get crossed.

I can't reproduce with 1.3 or 2.0 scores. What's your computer spec? Does it happen for small scores too?
Of course, the changes in 1e2596b4f1 are quite fragile... I put a delay of 500ms, maybe it's a bit too low.

I can't reproduce it anymore either. It definitely did happen, but apparently it was just a fluke. No issue now.

So, I believe I've figured out the actual common factor that I mistakenly identified previously. This happens if MuseScore is not currently running, and is launched by opening a file that MuseScore has not previously opened. So, for example, something downloaded for the first time from musescore.com, or a 1.3 file that has not yet been opened with MuseScore 2.
