[Linux] Program Icon Not Used for Window List, etc.
R. 2939
Ubuntu 9.10
Musescore doesn't have an assigned icon. This makes some things display a box instead of any sort of icon. See the picture for an example of the Window List applet for GNOME.

You compiled MuseScore yourself right?
Maybe the packaging for Ubuntu/Debian is taking care of this. See https://launchpad.net/~mscore-ubuntu/+archive/mscore-stable
Nope, Mr. Smithe's latest package doesn't do it, either.
Weird. Because everything needed seems to be around.
mscore.desktop file in
/usr/local/share/applications/mscore.desktop
and an icon file (xpm and png) in /usr/local/share/pixmaps/
I installed the packages from the PPA on a clean, up-to-date Lucid beta via virtualbox. Does it work for you? Maybe I did something wrong.... But I don't recall it ever showing an icon.
Ubuntu 9.10, Musescore 0.9.6 from svn
The nice harp icon in the main menu is given by /usr/local/share/pixmaps/mscore.png
I'm not talking about the main menu, that works just fine.
I'm talking about the window list: Look at the attached picture
It looks like the icon appears in the task bar for the splash screen when first opening but not for the main MuseScore window.
(MuseScore 0.9.6 stable, Ubuntu 10.04)
Hi,
this is fixed in the 0.9.6.2 package currently building in the mscore-stable PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~mscore-ubuntu/+archive/mscore-stable
I hope that this will make it into 10.10.
All the best,
Toby.
