Musescore 0.9.6 is unable to open a score file after a crash without producing another crash.
XP pro
Is there anyway to try to salvage the file?

I got it to open by right clicking and using "Open With" and choosing "Edit with". However, when I viewed the file all the rest were missing. Is there a problem when using multilple Time Signatures? I attached the file but I believe it is corrupted. If you can find the rests in there that would be nice.

Thanks,

Well, it was complicated. But maybe you can get some knowledge from this - probably not, though.

I was fiddling around with the various time signatures and changing instruments via the mixer. I then saved for the first time and soon after that the program crashed. I thought I would be okay because I had just saved; but I ended up with this corrupted file. I, myself was eventually able to get it to open (and still can) by using a right click and selecting the "edit with option" and choosing to edit it with Musescore. However, when it opens, all the rests are missing.

Hope you can gain some knowledge out of this.

MSCZ is a compressed version of MSCX file. The actual musical information is in the MSCX file. When I download both of the attached file and try to open them with 7zip, I can't. So the file is at least corrupted at the compress level. If you can open it with MuseScore, then the file you are posting and the one you are opening are not the same.

Okay I'll investigate that. Meanwhile, there also seems to be a problem with the undo and redo buttons. They seem to sometime undo and redo out of order ( or something) and also sometimes the notes disappear but the sound remains. Also, the cusor may jump backwards and forward during playback after some undo and redo sequences.

I just saved and closed and re-opened the file that had the cursor jumping around and it simply lost the information that involved the cursor jumping around and non-notated music playing.

That's it - a few measures, a lot of notes and almost all the rests missing . Also, as you can see, some notes are in places they shouldn't be.
