Layout issue with instrument names, key/time signatures and section break in a score with hidden staves
Nightly fa2e30d/ Windows 7
1) Open this new score for piano + acoustic bass: piano-bass.mscz
2) Style -> General -> Tick "Hide empty staves" -> and Untick "Don't hide empty staves in first system" -> Ok (result: the page is blank)
3) Return to Style -> General -> Tick "Don't hide empty staves in first system"
Result: the instrument names are gone to the left
4) Drag and drop a section break (Breaks & Spacers palette) in the middle of the system
Result: in the second system, instrument names to the left always, and more, Time signature and Key signature have disappeared , and so on by applying the same operation (adding section break) on this second system.
I had already noticed this issue by testing this one: #75116: Dragging breaks & spacers in an empty space in a score with hidden empty staves causes a crash
In my memory, I thought I had seen something close already. Or more and less related? But I can not find it in the former issues on the "Issue Hit List".
Perhaps it's considered as minor? Indeed, a simple Ctrl + A puts things in order. But we must do it again each time when adding section breaks. So, it's a little bit unexpected and surprising, right?
Comments
There are a couple of existing reports, actually:
#25168: Instrument labels incorrectly placed after hide empty staves is unchecked
#57241: Instrument name gets wrong position and a line is missing during note entry when "Hide empty stave" is enabled
First at least is on the hit list, although kind of buried in the section on bugs discovered during 2.0 development but postponed. I didn't add the second because I am pretty sure it's the same underlying issue. Also, the fact that it fixes itself makes it relatively minor, and when I investigated before, it looked like a good fix would be difficult.
That's right, my memory was right! But my search was unsuccessful.
