I've been trying to create a slur in version 0.9.6 on Ubuntu 10.04. Every time I drag the slur onto the score the program crashes unexpectedly. Other lines from the palette are fine.
Probably you are using the beta release of 0.9.6 instead of the stable version. In the MuseScore About box what revision number is displayed? If you are not using revision 3507 then I recommend you upgrade to the stable release. For instructions obtaining the latest stable release see the download page

Thanks so much. I upgraded, following the instructions and it upgraded to revision 3400. However, that works and has stopped the instability I was getting with the earlier beta pre-release.
