Bonjour
Merci

Google translate:
Hello
I edited on Final 2014 a score that includes many tremolos on two notes.
I exported .xml and import into MuseScore 2.0.
Everything is perfectly transcribed except tremolo!
Is there a manipulation would avoid me to rewrite them one by one: There are many!
Attached is a PDF comparing the extract Finale and its transposition in MuseScore
Thank you

attach here your score, if you want, if there are problems

It seems that the temolo between two notes are encoded in the xml files as 2 32nd notes inside a 1:8 tuplet: that's a clever workaround for notation purposes. The only missing piece I think is the interpretation of
notehead filled="no"

For what concerns the slurs, they are actually coded as ties (?) in the xml.

As a workaround for this file, you can select the range containing the notes, right-click one note head, Select -> All Similar Elements in Range Selection, and in the inspector change the Head Type in the Note section to "Half".

Title xml + tremolos Import tremolos between two notes from Finale MusicXML

Could anyone confirm that a well inputted tremolo in Finale export as a tuplet + notehead filled="no" ?

Many thanks to you for trying to resolve my problem.
I have made what you just tell me here and effectively the look well changes well.
But nothing is played differently : no tremolos heard :(
I must tell you that, with Finale, these trémolos are created with the TG tools plugin "Easy trémolos". Then perhaps, I have to try to load this plugin in MuseScore.
I scanned and edited in Finale 2014 all choirs of Gounod's Faust. I want to share this work with friends who use MuseScore. There is a lot of tremolos and I can not afford to send them files with such major faults.
I have to find a solution...

Thanks to you Lasconic to have changed the tittle of this issues : It's better like that.
Here is some information that may help to understand the problem:
The import of this Finale XML file into Sibelius 7 first and Harmony Assistant produces the same mistakes as for MuseScore 2.0. No tremolos on two notes appear.
As against the same import in versions of Finale less complete or oldest such as Notepad 2012 or 2011 Print Music works well. Tremolos appear and are played.
And sorry for my bad english...

As a workaround I find this way : Export my Finale file as a midi file and import back in Finale so that all tremolos are entirely developped (File attachment2) and then export as XML file.
Then, MuseScore opens it correctly (File attachment)
The remaining problem is that I have to re-install in the midi file all expressions and articulations !

How did you enter the tremolos in finale in the first place?

(In french, just in case, please answer in english if possible.
Comment as tu entré les tremolos dans Finale la première fois? Est ce une manière officielle de noter les tremolos ou une bidouille?)

As I wrote in post 8 I have entered the tremolos in Finale with the TG tools plugins "Easy tremolos" which is integrated in Finale complete edition.

I wrote MakeMusic and here is their response :

Hi Pascal,

Thanks for contacting MakeMusic Customer Success. It looks like those other programs are having trouble correctly importing the XML file. The third-party TG Tools plug-in you are using is designed to work with Finale only. The results are working well in Finale, but not other programs, so for the best support with this issue in other programs, I'd recommend contacting the creators of those programs instead.

We are not Sibelius, Harmony Assistant, or MuseScore tech support, and those programs behave differently than Finale does during the MusicXML import process. Since the issue is occurring in their programs, not ours, you'd be able to find an answer to this issue by contacting their technical support.

You can also try manually adding tremolos instead of using the plug-in, but I am not sure how those other programs will work, so I would not want to lead you astray.

Please let us know if you are encountering any issues in Finale, and we will be happy to help!

I found the Final answer a bit harsh and I therefore think that we should expect nothing more from them.
This morning I tried the opposite: Export to XML tremolos on 2 notes created in MuseScore and then import them into Final 2014: it works very well ...

Well, of course, because MuseScore exports the tremolo as a tremolo.
That plugin from Finale is exporting the tremolo as something which is not a tremolo. It is something which visually looks like a tremolo, but it is not a tremolo: it is two notes inside a "strange" tuplet, with a correction to note head to look not-filled (which at the moment is not yet supported by MuseScore). Probably, the plugin from Finale creates a playback layer mimicking the tremolo behavior when it stumbles upon such tuplet construction when importing an xml file.
Therefore the interpretation by MuseScore (except for the notehead little bug), Sibelius and Harmony Assistant is strictly correct.

We could think of creating a plugin which substitutes that particular tuplet construction to a real tremolo, mimicking the behavior of Finale.

Thank you for your research and your intention to create a plugin that can handle this way of doing Finale.
Meanwhile I'll manage with MIDI export or re-write tremolos in MuseScore but in Faust choirs there are pages and pages !!
Thank you again

Hi everyone, I have a feeling that this transcription problem tremolos between music publishing programs will take time to solve ... On MuseScore, I had to re-write one by one all tremolos that I edited on Finale 2014 and I was able to finally put my work available to everyone on your site. It's here: https://musescore.com/user/1964776/sets/1567611.
There remains the problem that tremolos on MuseScore edited and exported in XML are not read by Sibelius or Harmony Assistant. As against they "return" smoothly on Final.
Good luck to all of you who are working on this and thank you for your help.
