I am able to paste non-pitch notes onto a pitch stave - and vice versa.

Can we disallow such actions? A warning may appear that you cannot paste pitch/non-pitch notes onto the relevant stave.

Using MuseScore 1.0.0 pre-release 2 (3949) and Mac 10.4.11.

I usually disagree on general principles with the idea of disallowing some action just because some given user can't think of a reason to use it. If you don't want to do it, don't, but I don't see the value in stopping others from doing it if they have some workflow where it actually makes sense for them.
