If I wanted to reset positions, I could always hit Ctrl-R. Sometimes I want to drag a group of objects from where they are, not from where they originally were. BTW, ctrl-drag is very non-obvious; could this facility be made more apparent to the user?

I'm not sure I understand your problem here, or maybe its now fixed in the latest 1.1 version. I just found this posting dealing with Ctrl-drag and yes, it's not intuitive. However, when I select and ctrl-drag nothing reverts to default positions first.

I was working with lyrics and was moving each element individually, not knowing I could shift-select anf ctrl-drag to move them around en masse. Handy to know... but I wonder how many other little handy details like this are hidden inside MS?

See also https://musescore.org/en/comment/reply/68976. The issue is when *multiple* items are selected, and they have different initial offsets. A ctrl+drag of that multi-selection moves them all, but first resets all their offsets to match (I think it used to reset them all to 0?). I see why this might be so - it is good that the values in the Inspector then apply to them all. Still, it is worth considering alternatives.
