Screen capture in PDF format doesn't work correctly on Mac
MuseScore 2.1, 2.2-dev and 283b8c9369
On MacOS 10.10 and 10.13
* Open a score
* Click the camera icon to enter screen capture mode
* Select an area of the score
* right click -> save as > PDF
The resulting PDF has the right aspect ratio but the music is too small.

Other users reported that it works on Windows.

Same or at least similar issue on Windows (7 Enterprise, 64bit), MuseScore 2.1, see https://musescore.org/en/node/267638#comment-813235, the PDF adds white space to the right and below the selected area
Results with Linux (OpenSuse Leap 42.1) an MuseScore 2.1
So under Linux it works correctly

I couldn't verify under Mac, but under Windows it solves the problem.
