Looping Playback Problem

• Aug 15, 2016 - 20:57

Trying to create drumming loops. Simple 1-2 measure patterns. Works pretty well at certain tempos, but as I speed it up it skips slightly. Is there anyway to fix this? I tried exporting it as a midi file too, and playing it in another midi player. Same problem. I want to be able to create files that my students can slow down and speed up, just like a metronome. This won't work though if it won't play them back evenly at all tempos.

Using Windows 10, musescore 2.0.3

In theory, this should not happen. Can you post the score with which you are having trouble? (See the 'File attachments' link below the comment-input window.)

hi mr 485, you sent me a silly email, entitled "in todays digital era" with no real advice, nor knowing the job i was doing (generating written parts,by ear from an mp3, with NO score, from an extremely altered broadway musical, for which no score exists) and lectured me on "todays digital score writer", Does such a thing exist? I got paid am i a digital scorewriter? No it is term you made up. Please troll someone else, i am finished, paid, and don't need garbage from a guy who haunts online forums dispensing your style of advice. You and marc on this forum jumped to the wrong conclusion, and gave irrelevant replies, in fact quite insulting, because YOU could not conceive of the job i was doing. I had to explain it to both of you, so "shut up an play your guitar" as the man says...

You are obviously relpying in the wrong thread, I'm pretty sure you are talking about https://musescore.org/en/node/121436#comment-549231 and maybe https://musescore.org/en/node/121436#comment-549306 or https://musescore.org/en/node/121396#comment-548911 (the only replies of them to your posts to date)

But in none of these I see any reason whatsoever for you to offend and instult Recorder485 and/or Marc Sabatella, nor any reason to feel offended or instelted by what they replied to you.

For the record, this is a *web forum*, it is not email, although the forum software is configured to autoamtically send you emails notifying you of posts. So it is important to realzie that just because you receive a notification email, that does not mean someone *sent* you the email. It means they posted to the forum, but the post may or may not have been relevant to you - it might have been in response to someone else. So if doesn't apply to you, just ignore it.

Anyhow, I do understand multimeasure rests and the use of score and parts very well - I have reading, writing, and conducting from such scores professionally for decades. I think you are misunderstanding our replies. I thought we had explained how to use this feature, but if you are still having trouble after our explanations, feel free to attach the score you are having trouble with and describe your problem in more detail - but please do so in the thread you started on the subject, not here in this unrelated one.

Marc, you and Jojo and Zack have demonstrated a lot more patience with this person than I would have done, so kudos to you all for that. To move this 'flame war' out of an innocent discussion, I will reply to him in his original thread, but I doubt it will do any good. He seems persuaded that he's right, and everyone else is wrong.
