Project

1. Open attached MSCZ (produced in 1.3).
2. Add '64th tremolo through stem' to the notes.

Result: The tremolo collides with the ledger lines (see attached PDF).

Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (d4749e2) - Mac 10.7.5.

Comments

Stem length should probably be taken into consideration too - I don't know if LilyPond is correct in this regard, but perhaps we should refer to the book to be sure.

Thanks for posting the example lasconic.

Yes, #287152: Tremolo strokes collide with ledger lines which was reported for MS 3.0 is a duplicate of this older issue.

In this thread, chen lung commented:
" I don't know if LilyPond is correct in this regard, but perhaps we should refer to the book to be sure..... Page 221 and onward of 'Behind Bars' by Elaine Gould may address this."

Just to confirm that the original Lilypond example is not correct. Elaine Gould clearly states on p 222:
"Tremolo strokes must stay within the stave so as not to be confused with, nor collide with, a ledger line."

OK, so the question is whether to close this here or the other. Usually the older wins, but sometimes the newer is better documend and kept because of this.
I've now closed that, so we'll be keeping the one here.

Sadly, I only possess a limited knowledge of Cantonese and Mandarin, but I'm flattered! :D

Thank you for all your efforts, Howard!
