I've tried also to open by double clicking a score only to face the same issue.
Whenever I try to open MuseScore, the program loads indefinitely until I get an error that the program is not responding.
There is a pop up on start up that asks if I would like to restore previous session, to which ever answer I give, the results will be the same forever loading screen. I have not been able to use MuseScore in months because of this issue. I've tried all the advice on the forums from reinstalling to factory settings.

Which version? Make sure to have installed the latest, 3.6.2.
Uninstall, reboot, download and install 3.6.2
I suspect a duplicate of #275837: MuseScore crashes during start-up while displaying "Start center"

It is the latest version as I have uninstalled and gotten the latest version from the website as recently as an hour ago.
Did you reboot in between?
Tried the -w commandline option?
In reply to Did you reboot in between? by Jojo-Schmitz
Yes, what is the -w option?
See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/command-line-options
Yoi did revert to factory settings, so just use -w instead of -F

I'm confused. You want me to type -w in the command line?
yes. What you showed there is not the command line though. Nor the path to MuseScore, but a shortcut. Won't work for executing it.
But you claimed to have reset to factory, with an otherwise hung MuseScore you got to have done that via the command line also

I follow the factory reset instructions listed on this website for Windows.
follow the same instructions and instead of -F use -w

I tried it again following the instructions step by step, although you told me that is not the command line?
Where do those instructions mention anything ending in .lnk?

Sir, I understand it is frustrating in tech support when it is just typing (I hope I didn't come across as rude), and I thank you for your time. I got that result by following the instructions to find MuseScore.exe.
I just used your idea of -F, I was accidentally using -f, instead to fix my issue. Thank you so much! Have an amazing day!
Oops, i didn't mean to close the issue, but wanted to set it to "neess info".
But it seems your problem is solved meanwhile?
