"Particellas" (Parts) behaviour

• Jun 1, 2018 - 01:23

Hi, gang!!!

i just wonder what I did wrong:

According to the manual, if we perform any change into some individual part (particella) from our music score, those changes should be showed and played into the central "whole" work score.

But... I divided my today work, into woods, brass, percussion and strings parts; I did some individual changes, about dynamics and velocity, into some instruments, and... Nothing happened into the central whole score!!!

I mean... When I checked the instruments I'd changed into its individual parts, they remained with the "old" values into the central whole work score.

So...

What I did wrong???

Or... I understood bad and we can not to change the central score from its individual parts???

Blessings & Greetings from Chile!!!!!!!

Changes such as entering a new dynamic, changing a note or adding text will show up in both the score and the parts (even if you have several instruments in a part). What will not show up in both the parts and score is if you move one of the items position. Basically if you add or edit an items appearance (change the text or add an accidental (esp. alteración) for example) the new item will show up in both locations. If there is something specific that is not showing up in both locations that you think should, by all means be specific on this thread. Just remember that layout changes apply only to the current score or part.

Certain changes are designed to be linked so that they affect both score and part, other changes are designed to allow for differences. We generally try to be pretty conservative - if there exists the possibility someone might want a difference, we allow that, meaning the change is not linked.

Offhand I can't think of a good reason not to link a change to the velocity property of a dynamic or a note, so I'm personally OK with seeing this changed, but it's worth further discussion - someone somewhere might be depending on this.
