Musescore 3 is crashing every single time I try to copy/paste anything, no matter how small. I tried about six times to copy four measures of notes and chords from one part in the song to a different part with the same instrument, and it crashed every time I tried. Even when I pared it back to copy/pasting one measure, it still quit on me and I had to restore my session, having lost some work.

Comments

Can you tell is precise steps to reproduce the problem? I tried selecting bars 1-4 of the top staff to the empty four bars at the end (bar 75), no crash for me. BTW, this score seems to have been imported form 2.x using an earlier beta that had a bug that created some extra clefs and other problems, as you may have noticed. Might be best to try again with the current beta re-importing the original 2.x score.

Tested with: OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.0.4457, revision: e5d17fc

The problem is when copy-paste measure on another measure containing beams (and in Continuous View)
On the attached score above, eg: copy-paste measure 1, top staff, into measure 2 works.
But causes crash in measure 3 (containing beams)

Steps, from scratch (and test file: test beams continuous.mscz )

1) Default score
2) Switch in Continuous View
3) Enter a whole note in measure 1, and two eighth notes in measure 2 (or other)
4) Copy-paste measure 1 on measure 2
Result : crash

Severity: first idea was Critical, but considering the dangerousness, and frequence of crashes that this issue will lead, I up to Blocker.

See (note that paste on the entire measure, and in continuous view - works in page view - , are two necessary conditions)

Thanks for the investigation! A little surprising this hasn't been reported more...

BTW, what are you using to highlight the mouse pointer in your GIF?

Thanks.
"BTW, what are you using to highlight the mouse pointer in your GIF?"

You have already asked the question once, and I have already answered! -;)
Simply: the program used (Fastone Capture) contains this option. And for my part, I envy the way to display commands (shortcuts, pressed keys etc.) in a ribbon at the bottom of the page as you do on your animations!
