Notes immediately before and after a barline can no longer be beamed together.

Steps to reproduce with the attached score...
1. Select the first note of measure 10 (the Eb4 sextuplet quaver).
2. Expand the Beam Properties group in the palette.
3. Double-click "Beam middle".
Result : No change to the beaming of either the Eb4 note or the preceding Gb4 in measure 9. In previous versions, the two notes would be beamed together, with the beam drawn across the barline.

Regression No Yes

I really think lumping this regression with that 6 1/2 year long problem is a mistake unless the plan is to fix it soon. Beaming across a bar line is a basic need in transcription of existing scores. It should be fixed for the 3.0 release while the other issue could wait for later, but it would be nice to see both fixed in the 3.0 release.

Agreed. Even though it had been noted in the other issue that beaming across barlines was disabled, I'll keep this open, as I agree that fixing this much for release is pretty critical, but have little hope for seeing a fix across systems particularly soon.

Not a regression since the same behaviour is in older versions. Btw, it is really important request, so we will schedule fixing it asap after release.

Oops, MuseScore 3 doesn't allow user to create any beam crossing barline not even depending on the breaks.

3.2.3 seems to be the problem. It was was working fine in 2.3, but now that I have 3.2.3 it no longer works. I'm sure the problem on my score is similar to the one submitted at the top of this thread last December.

The score at the top of this thread might not have worked back in December, but it works just fine now. At least, it does for beams across barlines that are not also across system breaks - did you try it? System breaks have never worked, and continued to not work, although they don't work in a slightly better way now.

So again, if you're seeing a problem you didn't have in 2.3, please attach your score so we can investigate, because in general, it should work as well or better. As mentioned, better to do so in a forum post, because the problem represented in this issue was fixed several months ago, so whatever you are seeing must be something else.

Works fine for me - click the first note of the measure, double click the "beam middle" icon. You probably also want to set the next note to beam start - it's no different than how it worked in MuseScore 2.

Ok, I was clicking on the note BEFORE the barline. I don't think it ever would have occurred to me to click on "beam 'middle' " for the LAST note of a beamed group, so thank you!
